Connect an AI assistant

You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to your Snap Job Reports workspace. Once it's connected, the assistant works on your reports with you. It reads what your techs captured, drafts the write-up, checks what's missing and generates the PDF.

To connect one you need:

  • a Business plan
  • an admin account in your workspace. Techs can't connect an assistant.

Claude

Snap Job Reports is listed in the Claude connector directory.

  1. Open the Snap Job Reports listing in Claude and choose Connect.
  2. Claude opens a Snap Job Reports page. Sign in with your admin account if you aren't signed in already.
  3. Check the details and approve the connection.
  4. Back in Claude, ask about a job. For example: "Draft the findings for job 1234 from the photos."

ChatGPT and other assistants

Any AI assistant that can add a remote MCP connector with a sign-in step can connect. Use this connector address:

  1. In your assistant's settings, add a custom connector and paste the address. In ChatGPT this is a custom connector, and whether you can add one depends on your ChatGPT plan and settings.
  2. When the assistant asks you to sign in, sign in with your Snap Job Reports admin account and approve the connection.

You don't need a client ID or a secret. The assistant registers itself when it connects.

What the assistant can do

  • Find a job and read what your techs captured, including the photos, ratings, notes and defects.
  • Draft each report section, such as the summary, findings and recommendations.
  • Check what's still missing before the report is generated.
  • Preview the report and generate the PDF.
  • Send the finished report to the ServiceM8 job when you ask.
  • Set up report types and asset types for your workspace.
  • In a workspace without ServiceM8, create customers and jobs.

Good to know

  • It works with your admin access. It can do most of the report work you do in the admin portal, so read what it proposes before you ask it to send or approve a report.
  • Risky actions are marked. Actions that send a report, unlock a job, delete something or archive a report type are marked as making changes, so assistants that follow those markings ask you before using them.
  • Your job details go to your assistant's provider. When the assistant reads a job or its photos, that information goes to the company behind your assistant, under your own account with them.
  • To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant's settings.
